MISSIONS TRIP TO MEXICO
A Real Success
I chose this project because this missions trip for me was an absolute life changer. The trip was in Baja California, Mexico at a special needs orphanage. We spent a week there worshiping Jesus, cooking food, cleaning the houses, taking care of the kids, building pipelines, and playing soccer with the local kids. We helped take care of the "kids" there, and it was such a humbling experience. We had to do absolutely everything for them, from bathe them, to change them, to feed them. It was just a very small picture of the love Jesus has shown to us. I learned so much through this trip, especially my love for people. I just really learned to serve others, and how to engage and interact with people that I normally would never get the chance to. It was truly eye opening. I think the skills I learned there about caring for people, and serving others is more than I can learn through any school project. Those people skills will help me so much more in a career, and just life in general.  If I could do this trip again, I would want to spend more time down there to build relationships with the kids. Maybe stay down there for a season of my life instead of just a week. This trip truly was rewarding.
